ALEXANDRIA, Va - In the face of dwindling viewership in the 18-25 year old demographic, PBS has announced that it will air a new prime time sitcom patterned after successful shows like “That 70’s Show!” and its spinoff “That 80’s Show!”.

“That Late Baroque Period Show!” will begin airing next week on Thursday nights and will feature an ensemble cast of demographically diverse and lovable characters with easily recognizable foibles.

“Furhman” is a frustrated composer, and child prodigy, who is going deaf because his stern taskmaster father beat him as a child whenever he made a mistake at the piano. Hilarious hijinx ensue in the first episode when Gerhard doesn’t hear his mother’s warning and accidentally breaks her ribs as while helping her tighten her whalebone corset.

Donnatella is Furhman’s girlfriend who, as we learn in the first episode, is betrothed to an elderly Lord for a sizeable dowry and three good milk cows. Luckily, the make-up that her parents use to make her look more fetching to the aged suitor, contains massive amounts of lead, which makes her violently ill. Much to the young couples relief, the Lord Munchnik calls off the engagement, and the two kids live happily ever after until Furhman contracts gout, falls ill and then dies of dysentery in the second show.

“Feizel” is the eccentric and lovable Moorish slave of the Furhman family who is often the comic foil as cast members take turns poking him with red hot halbards while smoking opium in their cool hangout in Furhman family dungeon.
